Transport Layer Security Software | Zivver

Transport Layer Security for every email

Protect every email and file attachment with enforced transport security

What it does

When it comes to protecting data in transit, Transport Layer Security is a failsafe measure that ensures every email leaving your server is secure and protected against unauthorized access - something you can’t guarantee with standard email.

How it works

Transport security without the downsides

If the recipient’s mail server supports a minimum level of transport encryption and server authentication, Zivver can deliver secure messages directly. If not, they can still be accessed via our portal.

Encrypted in transit

Every Zivver message is encrypted and sent securely

Enforced TLS ensures that emails are encrypted during transmission, preventing unauthorized access during transit - crucial for protecting sensitive data from being intercepted.

Maximum delivery assurance

Enforced transport security without the hassle

When transport security is enforced by standard email solutions such as M365 and Gmail, messages are not delivered to recipients who do not support the required level of security set by the sending organization. The sender then receives a return message — a so-called “bounce.” This creates unworkable situations.

Zivver solves this problem by automatically falling back to delivery via a secure message portal in such cases. The sender doesn’t have to do anything and won’t even notice the difference, while the security and integrity of the email remain fully guaranteed!

Frequently asked questions

Whatever you need to know, we’ve got the answers.

Zivver uses a combination of secure-TLS and zero-access-encryption to protect your data in transit and at rest. Additionally, Zivver employs keyless encryption, meaning that only the sender and recipient have access to the encryption keys, ensuring that even Zivver cannot access the content of your communications.

No, Zivver cannot access the content of your encrypted emails. Zivver uses zero-access-encryption, meaning that only the sender and recipient have the keys needed to decrypt the content. This ensures that your data remains private and secure, even from Zivver.

TLS encryption ensures that the connection between two servers is secure and that data in transit cannot be intercepted. End-to-end encryption (E2EE) ensures that the content of an email remains protected from the moment it is sent until the recipient opens it. Zivver uses zero-knowledge encryption, which combines strong encryption in transit and at rest to achieve nearly the same level of security as E2EE—without the major drawbacks of E2EE, such as requiring both sender and recipient to use the same solution and preventing organizations from effectively applying DLP (Data Loss Prevention).
