DLP Gateway settings

Introduction

With Zivver DLP Gateway, you can automatically detect and encrypt sensitive data in emails and attachments. As an administrator, you can configure the DLP Gateway settings in the Zivver WebApp. This guide explains how to manage these settings.

Human Error Prevention

Zivver can help prevent human errors like sending sensitive information to the wrong recipient or not properly using the BCC field. Select which behavior you want to enforce:

• Ask the sender, send after a delay default
• Do nothing

Ask the sender, send after a delay

When you select this option, Zivver will ask the sender to fix potential mistakes. If no response is received within the specified delay, Zivver will send the email automatically. You can set how the email should be sent after the delay:

• Send as regular email: The email is sent as a regular email, without encryption.
• Send as Zivver message: The email is sent as a Zivver message, with encryption.

Do nothing

When you select this option, Zivver will not take any action. The email will be sent as a regular email, without encryption, changes, or alerts.

Auto-resolvable rules

The rule that checks for proper use of BCC recipients can be automatically resolved by Zivver. If you have selected the Ask the sender, send after a delay option, you can configure the automatic resolution behavior for this rule. The automatic resolution options are:

• Auto-resolve immediately: Zivver will automatically resolve the issue and send the email without asking the sender.
• Auto-resolve after delay: Zivver will wait for the sender’s decision for the specified delay. If no response is received, Zivver will automatically resolve the issue and send the email.
• Don't auto-resolve: Zivver will not automatically resolve the issue. The sender will be asked to resolve it. If no response is received, the rule remains unresolved and the email is sent as a regular, unencrypted email.

Show Advanced Settings

In the advanced settings, you can configure the following options:

Delay

With the Delay option, you can set the delay after which Zivver will automatically send the email if no response is received from the sender. The delay can be set between 5 and 60 minutes. If the sender does not respond within the specified delay, Zivver will send the email automatically.

Secure message notifications

With the Secure message notifications option, you can configure if Zivver should send notifications to the sender when a secure message is sent. You can choose between the following options:

• Don't notify: Senders will not be notified when their email was automatically sent as a Zivver message.
• Notify individuals only: Only individual accounts get a confirmation when their email was automatically sent as a Zivver message. No alerts are sent to shared mailboxes like team@company.com.
• Notify all accounts: All accounts, including shared mailboxes like team@company.com, get a confirmation when their email was automatically sent as a Zivver message.

Automatically fall back to verification mail

With the Automatically fall back to verification mail option, you can configure if Zivver should automatically send a verification email to the recipient when no phone number or access code is available. You can choose between the following options:

• Use system default: Follow the global configuration from the “Verification methods” page.
• Always enabled: Fall back to verification email, even if the global configuration is disabled in the “Verification methods” page.
