# Create a connector in Exchange Online

To connect to the Zivver SMTP Gateway, create a connector that submits outgoing messages to the Zivver SMTP Server.

Note

Before you create a connector, [create a support ticket](https://support.zivver.com/s/contactsupport?language=en_US) to ask Zivver to add your domain to the Zivver SPF allow-list. Doing so is required for Microsoft Exchange Online to reach the Zivver SMTP Server.

Microsoft Exchange routes each outbound message through only one send connector. Therefore, review the send connectors already configured in Exchange Online before you start. If another specific send connector must also process Zivver messages, a custom relay might be impossible. In that case, [create a support ticket](https://support.zivver.com/s/contactsupport?language=en_US) and describe your use case.

Follow these steps to create a connector in Microsoft Exchange Online:

01. Go to the [Exchange Admin Center](https://admin.exchange.microsoft.com/).
02. Select _mail_outline_ **Mail flow** in the left-hand menu.
03. Select **Connectors**.
04. Select _add_ **Add a connector**.
05. For **Connect from**, choose **Office 365**.
06. For **Connect to**, choose **Partner organization**.
07. Click Next.
08. Enter `Zivver Send Connector` as the connector name.
09. Click Next.
10. Select **Only when I have a transport rule set up that redirects messages to this connector**.
11. Click Next.
12. Select **Route email through these smart hosts**.
13. Enter `smtp.zivver.com`.
14. Click +.
15. Click Next.
16. Enable **Always use Transport Layer Security (TLS) to secure the connection (recommended)**.
17. Enable **Issued by a trusted certificate authority (CA)**.
18. Click Next.
19. Enter an email address to validate the connector.
20. Click +.
21. Click Validate.

Note

Validation can fail because the test message is sent from a special domain that is not yet on the Zivver SPF allow-list. You can ignore this warning and continue.

22. After validation finishes, click Next.

_If validation failed for the reason above, a confirmation window appears. Select Yes, proceed._
23. Click Create connector.
24. Click Done.

Your connector is now ready for use.
