Create a connector in Exchange Online

To connect to the Zivver SMTP Gateway, create a connector that submits outgoing messages to the Zivver SMTP Server.

Note

Before you create a connector, create a support ticket to ask Zivver to add your domain to the Zivver SPF allow-list. Doing so is required for Microsoft Exchange Online to reach the Zivver SMTP Server.

Microsoft Exchange routes each outbound message through only one send connector. Therefore, review the send connectors already configured in Exchange Online before you start. If another specific send connector must also process Zivver messages, a custom relay might be impossible. In that case, create a support ticket and describe your use case.

Follow these steps to create a connector in Microsoft Exchange Online:

1. Go to the Exchange Admin Center.
2. Select mail_outline Mail flow in the left-hand menu.
3. Select Connectors.
4. Select add Add a connector.
5. For Connect from, choose Office 365.
6. For Connect to, choose Partner organization.
7. Click Next.
8. Enter Zivver Send Connector as the connector name.
9. Click Next.
10. Select Only when I have a transport rule set up that redirects messages to this connector.
11. Click Next.
12. Select Route email through these smart hosts.
13. Enter smtp.zivver.com.
14. Click +.
15. Click Next.
16. Enable Always use Transport Layer Security (TLS) to secure the connection (recommended).
17. Enable Issued by a trusted certificate authority (CA).
18. Click Next.
19. Enter an email address to validate the connector.
20. Click +.
21. Click Validate.

Note

Validation can fail because the test message is sent from a special domain that is not yet on the Zivver SPF allow-list. You can ignore this warning and continue.

22. After validation finishes, click Next.

If validation failed for the reason above, a confirmation window appears. Select Yes, proceed. 23. Click Create connector. 24. Click Done.

Your connector is now ready for use.
