# Zivver Office Plugin Installation Manual for Microsoft Intune

## Introduction

This guide explains how to install or uninstall the Zivver Office Plugin using Microsoft Intune.

## Minimal technical requirements

### System requirements

- Microsoft Windows 10 or higher.
- Microsoft .NET Framework 4.8 or higher.
- Microsoft Outlook 2021 or higher.
- Memory utilization: +/- 150 MB in total for each Outlook session.

### Product specific requirements

- HTTPS connection on port 443, using TLS v1.2 or newer, with https://*.zivver.com.
- Outlook in Cached Mode or Online Mode1.
- A [Microsoft supported scenario](https://docs.microsoft.com/en-gb/DeployOffice/install-different-office-visio-and-project-versions-on-the-same-computer?toc=/deployoffice/office2019/toc.json#example-installation-scenarios) when using different versions of Office, Project, and Visio on the same computer.

Zivver Support investigates performance issues related to Online Mode on a best-effort basis.

### Intune specific requirements

- Administrator access to [Microsoft Intune](https://intune.microsoft.com/#home).
- An [Entra group](https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/entra/fundamentals/how-to-manage-groups) containing users that need the Zivver Office Plugin installed in Outlook.

## Install the Zivver Office Plugin with Microsoft Intune

01. Go to [Microsoft Intune admin center](https://endpoint.microsoft.com/).
02. Click **Apps**.
03. Select **All Apps**.
04. Click _add_ **Create**.
05. At **App type**, select **Line-of-business app**.
06. Click **Select**.
07. Click **Select app package file**.
08. Select the Zivver Office Plugin installation file.

09. Click **OK** to confirm and close the **App package file** pane.

_The App information page is now displayed._
10. At **Publisher**, enter **Zivver B.V.**
11. At **App install context** select **User**.
12. At **Command-line arguments** enter `/quiet`.
13. _Optional_: Fill in additional non-mandatory properties.
14. Click **Next**.
15. Under **Required**, select a group of users or devices.

_Select an Entra group with users who are assigned the Zivver Office Plugin. Required apps are installed automatically on enrolled devices._
16. Click **Next**.
17. Review the summary and click **Create**.

_Intune notifications will confirm when the application is successfully created._

## Install and configure recommended Zivver Office Plugin settings

You can deploy the recommended settings using [PowerShell](https://docs.zivver.com/en/admin/officeplugin/intune-installation-manual.html#install-recommended-settings-with-powershell). Additionally, one setting must be configured separately via a [Device Configuration profile](https://docs.zivver.com/en/admin/officeplugin/intune-installation-manual.html#deploy-recommended-setting-with-a-device-configuration-profile).

### Install recommended settings with PowerShell

01. Download the [Recommended Zivver Office Plugin settings (PowerShell script)](https://docs.zivver.com/downloads/officeplugin/minimal-recommended-office-plugin-registry-key-settings-office-powershell.ps1).
02. Go to [Microsoft Intune admin center](https://endpoint.microsoft.com/).
03. Select **Devices**.
04. Select **Scripts and remediations**.
05. Select **Platform scripts**.
06. Click _add_ **Add** and select **Windows 10 and later**.
07. Enter **Recommended Zivver Office plugin settings** as name.
08. _Optional_: Enter a description.
09. Click **Next**.
10. At **Script location**, select the PowerShell script downloaded at the first step of this section.
11. Set **Run this script using the logged on credentials** to **Yes**.

_Start the script on user context to apply all the recommended settings._
12. Set **Enforce script signature check** to **No**.

_The PowerShell script is not signed._
13. Click **Next**.
14. Under **Included groups**, select the same Entra group used during the [installation](https://docs.zivver.com/en/admin/officeplugin/intune-installation-manual.html#install-office-plugin-with-microsoft-intune).

_This ensures that every user has both the Zivver Office Plugin and the recommended settings._
15. Click **Next**.
16. Review the summary and click **Create**.

_Intune notifications will inform you when the PowerShell script has been successfully created._

### Deploy recommended setting with a Device Configuration profile

Info

The [PowerShell script](https://docs.zivver.com/en/admin/officeplugin/intune-installation-manual.html#install-recommended-settings-with-powershell) cannot deploy this Outlook setting, because the PowerShell script has no write access to the `HKCU\Software\Policies\` registry hive. Thus, this setting is enabled with a Configuration profile in Microsoft Intune admin center.

01. Go to [Microsoft Intune admin center](https://endpoint.microsoft.com/).
02. Select **Devices**.
03. Under **Manage devices**, select **Configuration**.
04. Click _add_ **Create**.
05. Click _add_ **New Policy**.
06. At **Platform**, select the appropriate version of Windows.

_For example: Windows 10 and later._
07. At **Profile type**, select **Settings catalog**.
08. Click **Create**.
09. At **Name**, fill in the name of the profile.

_For example: Zivver Office Plugin AddinList setting._
10. Click **Next**.
11. At **(2) Configuration settings**, click _add_ **Add settings**.

12. In the search bar, type " **Microsoft Outlook 2016**" and click **Search**.
13. Click **Microsoft Outlook 2016\Miscellaneous**.
14. From the drop-down menu under **Setting name**, select the box for **List of managed add-ins (User)**.
15. Close the right side pane and **Enable** the **List of managed add-ins (User)** setting.
16. Under **Name**, fill in `ZivverOfficePlugin.AddinModule`.
17. Under **Value**, fill in `1`.

18. Click **Next**.
19. Under **Included groups**, select the same Entra group used during the [installation](https://docs.zivver.com/en/admin/officeplugin/intune-installation-manual.html#install-office-plugin-with-microsoft-intune).

_This ensures that every user has both the Zivver Office Plugin and this recommended setting._
20. Click **Next**.
21. _Optional_: assign Scope tags, or click **Next**.
22. Review the summary and click **Create**.

_Intune notifications will inform you when the configuration profile has been successfully created._

## Verify the installation

1. Open Outlook

_If the Zivver Office Plugin is installed and enabled, a **Zivver** tab shows in the top row of Outlook._

In the [Microsoft Intune admin center](https://endpoint.microsoft.com/), go to **Apps** > **All Apps** > **Zivver Office Plugin** > **Monitor** > **App install status** to monitor installation. Read the
[Zivver Office Plugin troubleshooting article](https://docs.zivver.com/en/admin/officeplugin/troubleshooting/cant-see-office-plugin.html) if the Zivver Office Plugin is installed but the Zivver tab does not show in Outlook.

## Uninstall the Plugin

To uninstall the Plugin, you must delete the application, the PowerShell script, and the Configuration profile.

### Delete the application

01. Go to [Microsoft Intune admin center](https://endpoint.microsoft.com/).
02. Click **Apps**.
03. Select **All Apps**.
04. Select **Zivver Office Plugin** from the list of apps.
05. At **Overview**, click **Properties**.
06. Click the **Edit** link next to **Assignments**.
07. Add the group of users or devices visible under **Required** to **Uninstall**.
08. Remove the group of users or devices from **Required**.
09. Click **Review + save** to confirm the uninstallation.
10. To monitor the uninstallation status, you can check the **Device install status** underneath the app overview.

### Delete the PowerShell script

1. Go to [Microsoft Intune admin center](https://endpoint.microsoft.com/).
2. Select **Devices**.
3. Select **Scripts and remediations**.
4. Select **Platform scripts**.
5. Select **Zivver Office Plugin** from the list of scripts.
6. At **Overview**, click _delete_ **Delete**.
7. Click **Yes** to confirm.

_Intune notifications will inform you when the PowerShell script is deleted._

### Delete the Configuration Profile

1. Go to [Microsoft Intune admin center](https://endpoint.microsoft.com/).
2. Select **Devices**.
3. Select **Configuration**.
4. Select **Zivver Office Plugin AddinList setting** from the list of profiles.
5. Click _delete_ **Delete**.
6. Click **OK** to confirm.

_Intune notifications will inform you when the configuration profile is deleted._
