# Handling Incidents & Personal Data Breaches

At Zivver, we take data security seriously. If a security breach occurs that affects your personal data, we will notify you and follow our procedures to investigate and resolve the issue.

## What is a Personal Data Breach?

A data breach refers to any security incident that results in:

- Accidental or unlawful destruction or loss of personal data
- Unauthorized access, or disclosure of personal data
- Any compromise of stored, transmitted, or processed data

## What we do in case of a breach

If we detect a data breach, we will:

1. **Investigate the breach** – Identify the cause and extent of the incident.
2. **Collect forensic evidence** – Secure relevant system logs, snapshots, email audit trails, and metadata without altering original data.
3. **Notify affected parties** – Inform you as soon as possible if your data is impacted.
4. **Take corrective action** – Implement measures to prevent further breaches.
5. **Provide guidance & share evidence** – Support you with recommended actions and share relevant findings to help you. Such as:
   6. Share forensic evidence such as logs and metadata.
   7. Compliance with regulations where applicable under data processing agreements.

## What you can do

As an administrator, you play a key role in maintaining security. If you suspect a breach, follow these steps:

1. **Identify & contain** – Determine the affected data and if applicable, restrict access immediately.
2. **Collect evidence** – Save logs, emails, or other relevant information for investigation.
3. **Report on the issue** – Contact our support team via an email at [support@zivver.com](mailto:support@zivver.com), create a ticket on [the support portal](https://support.zivver.com/s/contactsupport?language=en_US), or call to +31 (0)85 016 0555. When applicable: via the support functionality in the Zivver admin panel.
4. **Update security measures** – Review user access, reset passwords, and enable extra security layers if needed.
